El Paso Community Foundation Supports Immunize El Paso’s “Flu2You” Program with $10,000 Grant

Immunize El Paso is proud to announce the receipt of a generous $10,000 grant from the El Paso Community Foundation in support of our “Flu2You” program. This incredible contribution will help bring flu and other life-saving respiratory vaccines directly to the homes of community members who are unable to visit vaccination sites. The program is designed specifically for individuals who face mobility issues, transportation challenges, or health concerns that make it difficult to access traditional healthcare settings.

What is “Flu2You”?

The “Flu2You” program aims to eliminate barriers to healthcare access by delivering vaccines to the doorsteps of those who need them most. From the elderly to those living with chronic illnesses, many in our community rely on these services to protect themselves against dangerous respiratory diseases such as flu, pneumonia, RSV, and COVID-19. With flu season underway, ensuring our most vulnerable populations are vaccinated is more critical than ever.

A Community Effort

Henry Brutus, Executive Director of Immunize El Paso, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “The El Paso Community Foundation’s donation is providing lifesaving protection to our most vulnerable populations. Their generosity reflects a profound commitment to community health, and we are deeply appreciative of their partnership.”

Eric Pearson, president and CEO of the El Paso Community Foundation, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “The El Paso Community Foundation is proud to support the important work of ProAction. Immunizations are our best form of prevention of many dangerous, and even deadly diseases.  ProAction’s work is vital to our community.”

Why Vaccination Matters

With respiratory illness season ramping up, we encourage everyone, especially individuals aged 65 and older or those with underlying health conditions, to get vaccinated. These groups are at higher risk of severe illness or complications from flu and other respiratory infections. The “Flu2You” program ensures that everyone in our community, regardless of their circumstances, has access to critical vaccines.
